Hi all,
The OpenMC development team is proud to announce the release of a new minor version, 0.7.0. While it may be a “minor” increment, there are some pretty exciting new features, including:
- A complete Python API for pre/post-processing
- Python 3 compatibility for all scripts
- All scripts consistently named openmc-* and installed together
- New ‘distribcell’ tally filter for repeated cells
- Ability to specify outer lattice universe
- XML input validation utility (openmc-validate-xml)
- Support for hexagonal lattices
- Material union energy grid method
- Tally triggers
- Remove dependence on PETSc
- Significant OpenMP performance improvements
- Support for Fortran 2008 MPI interface
- Use of Travis CI for continuous integration
- Simplifications and improvements to test suite
There are a number of bug fixes as well. I’d like to thank Bryan Herman, Colin Josey, Matt Ellis, Adam Nelson, Nick Horelik, John Lyu, Anthony Scopatz, Sterling Harper, Jon Walsh, and Will Boyd for their contributions to this release. The source code can be downloaded at https://github.com/mit-crpg/openmc/releases or the master branch on the GitHub Repository.
Best regards,
Paul
