Release of OpenMC 0.15.0

OpenMC 0.15.0 has just been released! This release contains a slew of new features, bug fixes, and performance improvements β€” check out the release notes for the full details. A huge thank you to all who contributed, including many first-time contributors!

As always, we recommend updating to the latest version of OpenMC if possible. If you are using conda, the new release should be available on conda-forge within the next few days.

Thanks for the update.

Is there likely to be a Python 3.9 version, or is this no longer supported?

@Chris As of this release, we have adopted a new Python version policy. Under this policy, new releases of OpenMC currently target Python 3.10 and up.

I will note however that there is nothing in the 0.15.0 that explicitly would not work with Python 3.9, so if you want to install from source, you can change this line to get it to install:

That’s great - thanks for taking the time to respond.

This file disappears in the latest version. Can the current version still work with python 3.9? If so, is there anything should be modified while installing?

The latest release (and current developmental branch) supports Python 3.10+. This is now specified in pyproject.toml:
