Can pulse-height tally be used to measure photons produced via decay?

In the paper “Implementation and Validation of the Pulse-Height Tally in OpenMC”( Christopher Fichtlscherer, Friederike Frieß, Malte Göttsche and Moritz Kütt, 2021, https://resources.inmm.org/sites/default/files/2021-09/a267.pdf ) it says “Further improvements could consider correlated particles from individual decay events (e.g. Co-60)”. Is this possible yet? I have created a simulation that looks at activated steel using transmutation reactions (openmc.deplete) but would like to look specifically at the gamma rays produced. Would creating a detector with pulse-height tally be the right approach?
