Ubuntu or CentOS 7: Which is better for OpenMC performance?

While I’ve been able to compile both on different machines, I was wondering if one would be better (performance wise) than the other.

I plan on working with some more advanced reactor designs including fusion reactors and molten salt fission reactors. This will likely be done across the course of the next 4 years.

The OS shouldn’t have much of an effect on the performance. The performance is really dictated by the hardware you’re running on, what compiler you used (and compiler optimizations), whether you’re running in parallel, and so on.
