Fission rate normalization

Hi,
I am trying to calculate the first step 235U fission/sec that is given in the following depletion example:
depletion.
However, my calculation result is different from the one that is given in the openmc post process. I am suspecting the difference is from the q-fission normalization.
My calculation is:
power = 174 W
q-fission (235U) = 193405400.0 ev (this is given in the depletion chain xml, and I used this value because the simulation in the example was done with the default normalization).
Then, from these two values, I got 235U fission/sec = 5.615884159E+12.

However, the simulation post process shows that the value is around 5.34815E+12 fission/sec. Can someone please explain why I am having the difference, and if it is the q-fission what should be the value?
Best regards
Yohannes

Hi,
I solved this problem. I made a mistake of assuming all the power comes from U235 fission, when in reality there is a small contribution from the other fuel isotopes as well.

Glad you were able to figure this out!
