Decrease dimension of statepoint file

Dear all,

I am currently conducting a simulation of a 2D configuration of 9 fuel cells arranged in a 3x3 grid. I am using OpenMC to track various quantities such as reaction rates and heat deposition for each individual cell, as well as for the materials and spatial distribution within a mesh. I have also implemented the DistribcellFilter. However, I have noticed that the resulting statepoint file for this simulation has grown to be quite large, with a size of 280 MB.

I am wondering if there are any strategies or techniques that can be used to reduce the size of these statepoint files. I am aware that I can compress the files using a program like zip, but I am curious if there are any other, more efficient solutions available. Any suggestions or insights would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your time.
Best regards,

Christian.
