Hi, I started learning OpenMC today and I’m trying to set a transmission boundary condition for a sphere to study an homogeneous infinite material. It seems like it doesn’t set the condition in the geometry.xml file. I tried to change it to “reflective” and it works. Then i tried to set it to “white” and it didn’t. What am I doing wrong?
Hi Lorenzo,
Transmission is the default boundary condition, when you use it the particles freely pass through the surface, problably you will need to put your sphere inside a box. With ‘vacuum’, ‘reflective’, and ‘white’ your model works but I believe your cell is not defined correctly.
I suggest developing a little bit more your model, for example, you can create the universe and plot your geometry to check if it is correct.
Hope this helps,
Javier
