# Type of the source

Hello friends and teachers…;

My question is: How can we specify in the seeting to put the source in the form of cylinder  
not in form the box?

@younes Right now this is not possible using one of the basic built-in source distributions. However, you could achieve this using a [custom source](https://docs.openmc.org/en/stable/usersguide/settings.html#custom-sources).
