# install openmc on macbook with mavericks

i have this error when i run the command sudo make install

make: \*\*\* [install] Error 64

Can you provide more information and output? That error alone is not enough to figure out what’s going on.

Hello,  
you need just to remove the “-D” in the makefile in lines 249 till 254.they are now:

@install -D (program) (DESTDIR)(prefix)/bin/(program)  
@install -D utils/statepoint\_cmp.py (DESTDIR)(prefix)/bin/statepoint\_cmp  
@install -D utils/statepoint\_histogram.py (DESTDIR)(prefix)/bin/statepoint\_histogram  
@install -D utils/statepoint\_meshplot.py (DESTDIR)(prefix)/bin/statepoint\_meshplot  
@install -D …/man/man1/openmc.1 (DESTDIR)(prefix)/share/man/man1/openmc.1  
@install -D …/LICENSE (DESTDIR)(prefix)/share/doc/$(program)/copyright

they must become like this:

@install (program) (DESTDIR)(prefix)/bin/(program)  
@install utils/statepoint\_cmp.py (DESTDIR)(prefix)/bin/statepoint\_cmp  
@install utils/statepoint\_histogram.py (DESTDIR)(prefix)/bin/statepoint\_histogram  
@install utils/statepoint\_meshplot.py (DESTDIR)(prefix)/bin/statepoint\_meshplot  
@install …/man/man1/openmc.1 (DESTDIR)(prefix)/share/man/man1/openmc.1  
@install …/LICENSE (DESTDIR)(prefix)/share/doc/$(program)/copyright
